Hey, It's Tarik. I'm the new Community Manager for Winamp. One of the first things I did as part of the team, is pull together some Winamp tutorials. Granted, the vids are a bit low-fi... but they're pretty helpful in highlighting some cool features.

Check out the first of many tutorials we plan on posting. In this tutorial, learn all about the new 'Now Playing' experience, which is available in Winamp v5.54. If you like the new feature you can Download Winamp 5.54 Now.

This tutorial gives you a quick walk-through of the completely revamped 'Now Playing' experience, which offers users a true multimedia experience by bringing together artist bio, videos, photos, songs, radio, etc.

By far, my favorite part is how you can discover new music & bands by searching through recommendations. When you're in the 'Now Playing' experience for your favorite musician, you can see recommendations that are either similar, or have been credited as influences, to that artist. By clicking on any of the suggestions, you can immediately listen the recommended artist, read their bio, view photos or watch videos.

Anyhow, it's a great way to discover new music & possible kill a few hours or days of your time (at work)! If you haven't watched the tutorial, you should take a few mins and check it out. We'd love to hear from you guys as well. If there are features you want to learn more about, let us know and we'll see what we can do.

1. The 'Now Playing' page is very useful -love the 'related internet radio station' function-. But I've got a little problem: when I hear a Depeche Mode song the info that appear is from the band Vangelis. Can you fix it?
All the new features in the "new" winamp are great!!!.

2. Hey, I think the "Now Playing" idea is innovative and could be useful for some users but not all. Personally, I don't want to use the feature and find it annoying to have to close the Browser everytime a new song begins.
It would be great if you could control how the "Now Playing" feature activates via the Preferences menu.

dIEGO - when you were playing the Depeche Mode song, were you playing a file from your local library?

Maurcio - if I wanted to try and recreate... which skin are you using, and what browser are you forced to close?

4. Yes, My Local Library. I do click on Depeche Mode on 'Album Artist'.
