People nowadays live 99 lives and what is a life without music!
I have been following this new website, Secondlife which lets me live a different life on the internet. It lets me become a pilot, DJ, surfer - anything I want to be. Tinkering with it, I found that we can stream music into it. It lets you link up a server where from you can stream audio into the secondlife environment. Winamp provides a great platform of streaming through SHOUTcast and I thought 'Why not use SHOUTcast and stream some music and make my Secondlife more interesting? I even found a cool video uploaded by one of our esteemed users.
Quick easy steps:
1) Download the plugin 'Be a DJ' from www.shoutcast.com 2) Install the plugin and configure it from Preference-> Plugin->DSP/Effect->SHOUTcast Source DSP V1.x (See SHOUTcast.com's 'Be a DJ' page for more installation help 3) Once you install and configure, you will be able to stream music as well as sound card's output (which can be microphone input etc.) into the server. You will get the server address as well. Copy the server address. 4) When you are in Secondlife, just go to the AboutLand box and click on the media tab and paste the server address and you are ready to go :)
1. Since AOL bought Nolsesoft will the Aim player replace Winamp since Winamp is so buggie, and people are supposed to pay for features that were once free?

2. Hmm... What i'd really like to see, is Last.fm support for Winamp Remote... I use it to access home music from the office!!! =)
