Few days back, one of our users recommended us a quirky but very pertinent feature - ability to program Winamp to shut down ones computer when the songs on the play list finish being played. We must say, this comes from an ardent music lover who wants to listen to music while sleeping and who doesn't want the computer running all night.
Well, we in Winamp do that most of the time - believe me - sleep, music and work to bring you the best features to enjoy your music. Hence, our developers came out with this feature long back. All you have to do is right click on the stop button and choose your option -

2. There is a feature which just bugs me to hell! Please do a survey to see HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY USING THE NOW PLAYING FUNCTION IN THE LIBRARY, cause I find it very-very useless, mostly because it doesn't provide me with any useful information whatsoever. But it bugs me mostly because whenever I click on the notification that comes in and out when a song changes, Winamp opens, and in the library the Now Playing starts opening. And it takes about 3-5 seconds until Winamp is usable again. This is whack! OK. Probably if I would be listening to Britney Spears or the Rolling Stones it actually would show me some 'valuable' information (I don't know, I'm just guessing...), but for Tiesto it cannot find anything, and finds ONE similar artist: 'Tom Cruise'. Are you f***in' kidding me?! TOM CRUISE?! What the f**k is he singing?! This is crap!
Try adding stuff but by this try to actually simplify Winamp. I don't know... For example I NEVER used Winamp for anything else BUT music.
Of course. You can't please everybody. But try to find out if a thing is actually appreciated by the audience.
Thanks
5. I wanted to drop my frustrations about winamp for a second, but I looked at the home page and said "tl;dr".
I used to love winamp. LOVE it; I remember thinking all other sound reproduction programs were inferior and always wanted my e-mail. Winamp blew Gate's second rate Windows Media Player out of the water; I mean it had an equalizer that made sense, easily adjustable preferences, and it was really fast because it didn't use alot of system processes.
This was years ago in Winamp 1.76 and 2.x.x days
For me, Winamp now falls in the "age of glory passed" category of online downloads. Basically it uses too many system processes (baw), has trouble burning my cd's (baw), and doesn't load perticularly quick anymore (baw). It's a good thing I paid for pro, so that I couldn't use my cd-burner. Frustratingly, every time i try to burn a cd with Winamp, either the program will crash (baw), or the cd will skip.. even with the burn speed waaaaay down (baw. baw.).
I guess just like kids, winamp was cute and quirky, but still perfect in its infantile period. As the adolescent 2.x.x period came on, it grew a thin moustache, and took on various roles to assume a pubescent importance that no other sound reproduction program had.. this of course was still understandable. It wasn't until the teenage winamp 3.x came around, and started doing all the fashionably expected things, began punching holes in walls of its motherboards house, and apparently began illicit drug use duly noted because of its frequent crashes.
Problem is, Windows Media player is still a pimply kid who leaves a Dorito enclaved XBOX controller on the ground, and Realplayer.. well aside from mild genetic retardation, he is a thief.. and truthfully, nobody likes a thief.
So I limp back, broken and dissapointed, to my retro version of Winamp, and hold on to the photograph of better days.
6. Ya! it's great features! Now, i can sleep rilex and my PC gone to sleep too!I

One part genius. Three parts llama. And a sprinkling of corporate AOL. That's what Winamp is all about.
