In an earlier post we talked about how to share your listening history with the Orgler Module (see example module below or click the link to learn more), but basically it's an embeddable widget that let's you share you playback history online.

In this post we'll give you instructions on how to include your Orgler Module in your e-mail signature. More specifically how to personalize your Microsoft Outlook e-mail signature. The module should work in other e-mail programs, but the steps will vary.

Step 1:
Read the original Orgler Module post if you are not already familiar with the module or haven't created an account.

Step 2:
Once you've signed into the Orgler from your Winamp player, and have listened to some tracks, the next thing you'll need to do is snag the embed code from the following page:

http://www.winamp.com/user/orgler

Step 3:
Follow the configuration options. Choose your color scheme, Time option, Album Name option, number of rows, etc. But be sure to have the following configuration options selected:

Orgler Privacy Setting: Public
Select Widget (instead of RSS)
Orgler Module Style: Image

For posting in a blog or web page normally you would select "iFrame" however for your e-mail signature you should select "Image".

Finally at the bottom, under "Your Code", select HTML and click copy

Step 4:
Open up Notepad (or other text editor) and paste your code. You'll also need to place <html> at the start of your code and </html> at the end. If you know a little about html, it's pretty ease to add your name or contact info if you'd like.

HTML Code opened in Notepad

Step 5:
Save the file as an .html (e.g. Orgler-Signature.html) and not .txt.

Step 6:
Place your file in the Signature folder. For me, the signatures are saved in the following location:
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Microsoft\Signatures

*Update USERNAME to your actual user name on your PC.

***Or***

From Outlook, go to Tools >> Options >> Mail Format >> Signatures and create a "New" signature. Don't paste this html code in the textbox provided, but instead upload the file that you saved by selecting "Use this file as template" and browse to the location.

The final step is to select your file from the "Signature for new messages" drop-down and click apply.

And Viola! You've personalized you e-mail signature with your listening history.

One part genius. Three parts llama. And a sprinkling of corporate AOL. That's what Winamp is all about.
