Winamp for AndroidTM is now in Beta!
Winamp, the Ultimate Media Player, is now available in beta on AndroidTM (2.1 OS and above). It offers a complete media management solution by seamlessly syncing with the Winamp desktop library. In addition to high quality playback and persistent player controls, Winamp for Android offers wireless sync with your Winamp Desktop (Winamp 5.59 beta required). Standard USB syncing also available.
What You'll Need To Do:
- Download & install the beta version of the Winamp desktop application from our forums.
- From your Android phone, download & install the beta version of the Winamp for Android. You can either scan the below QR code with your phone or search for "Winamp" in the Android Market.
A complete Android media management solution, that seamlessly syncs with your Winamp desktop library (USB or Wi-Fi).
Wireless Desktop Sync
No need to tie your Android phone down. Enable Wi-Fi sync and leave your cable behind (Winamp 5.59 beta required).
Persistent Player Controls
Quickly pause, change tracks, manage your play queue, see what's playing and access the Winamp home screen.
Play Queue Management
The play queue is a temporary track listing that allows you to easily select and sort tracks. And if you like, save it as a playlist.
Widget Players & Shortcuts
Add playlist shortcuts and the widget player to the Android home screen. As well as enable playback control from the lock-screen.
Now Playing
Displays song info, album art and more. Press and hold on the song info to interact with other apps like Pandora, YouTube and the Amazon MP3 Store.
Scrobbling
Supports scrobbling with the Last.fm app installed (on your Android device). Capturing all of your mobile listening history in real time.

3. Winamp on Android, it'sa dream come true. Just hearing that intro sound or seeing the icon was nearly enough to make me wet my pants. Now comes the hard part though: Feature requests ;)
What many of us Winamp users need is a way to access our entire music collection on the go. In a way, Winamp Remote already provides this, but there is no suitable frontend on Android. This App could change all that.
Allow us to stream with and without transcoding, and with direct access to our entire Winamp media library, including custom library views, playlists and ratings. I would pay $40 easily for and Android app that did that well.

4. Right ok. Beta Winamp installed on my PC.
App downloaded and installed to HTC Desire. (Wifi on) Sync turned on and...
...nothing
Anything else to add to your instructions?

6. I love it! Thank you for making this! I have been a loyal winamp user on my PC for the past 10 years. My music listening experience is finally complete! :)
I agree with bemymonkey above, a streaming solution built in would just be icing on the cake. :D

7. Would be cool if you could label some of the graphical buttons with text so it would speak better for screen reader users for the blind. Also, it would just be awesome if you could make the classic keyboard controls (x play, c pause, etc) work in Android as well. Thanks for a great app so far.

8. I too am excited by this idea. How do we go about putting feature requests in? Is there an official forum?
Personally I would love any android music app to pay attention to the "album artist" tag. I currently have a few compilation albums, which really clutters up my artists listing. If these could be grouped by album artist (or use the itunes "compilation" flag that would be ace.
Also I couldn't see how to get my PC Winamp Beta to talk to my HTC Desire winamp.

20. Please add support for Wi-Fi sync to a custom directory, Galaxy S has both internal and external SD and all my music is on the external SD! D:
I don't want 100 folders/songs directly on my internal sd card!
