Winamp is now available for AndroidTM devices and offers a complete music management solution. One of the biggest advantages of using Winamp to manage music on your Android phone or device is that in addition to the standard USB sync, Winamp for Android supports wireless desktop sync. To take advantage of this feature, you'll need to install both the Winamp for Android and the latest Winamp Media Player for your PC.
Step 1::
On your Android device, download Winamp for Android.
Step 2:
When you initially launch the application you'll see a "Winamp Help" screen. Click on the "Wi-Fi Sync" button and following the onscreen instructions. If you don't see the Winamp Help screen, simply launch Winamp and from the Home screen press the Menu button (hard button), go to "Settings" and "Enable wireless sync".

Step 3:
Make sure your PC and Android phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Step 4:
From your PC, download & install Winamp Standard (free) or Winamp Pro (premium). Version 5.6 or later is required. Please note that Wi-Fi sync with Winamp for Android will not work with "Winamp Lite". After launching Winamp you will be prompted to "Add Media to Library" or "Import from iTunes".
Step 5:
From the Media Library tab, select "Devices" in the navigation panel (left-hand side of screen).

1. Neat idea, but I can't get this to work at all. I get stuck at step 6. I click on "Devices" and get the little graphic with the QR code. Then I click on discover, and ... nothing. The button doesn't appear to do anything. I've already double-checked everything -- computer and phone are on the same network (computer is wired, not wireless, if that makes a difference), phone is awake, "Enable wireless sync" is checked, etc. App version is 0.9.2, Winamp version is of course 5.6. Not sure if I'm missing something, but if I can provide any other details, let me know!
3. Yup, it seems that phone and computer have to be on the same *WiFi* network (step 3), not just the same network, which kinda prevents the feature from working in the majority of desktop computers. Hopefully, Winamp will have a better solution in the near future but for now, I am quite disappointed.
4. same here. I have followed the instructions to the tee, I am doing everything correctly, I have latest versions on my phone and pc, I am connected to the same wifi network and still th discover button feels like it isn't doing anything.... please sort us out winamp!
11. I think I figured out how to get around the Discover button not working with wifi. You will need to connect the phone to the computer with a USB cable to get it to recognize the phone. Once you do that you can disconnect the USB cable and then use the wifi connection since the phone is now showing up under discovered devices.
I hope this helps!
tl;dr: initially connect with usb then wifi will work.
18. Win7 x64 PC connected via ethernet to wireless router.
Phone is connected to the same router via wifi.
PC and phone can ping each other.
Both phone and PC have static IP addresses.
Wifi sync is enabled on the phone, and my PC has Winamp 5.6 with the wifi plugin loaded.
Hitting 'Discover' does nothing.
I'd be glad to help troubleshoot this - feel free to email me and I can provide Wireshark logs from both the PC and phone perspectives.
20. It worked for me... in nexus one with froyo... awesome app... previously had same problem which are reported above... both ur laptop and ur mobile should be in same wi-fi network... (no need of wire) .. didnt connect any device with wired network.. if u are using any wi-fi network which is not urs .. please check tat sync is not blocked... prev sync was blocked in my office network.. it works fine in my home.. .
One part genius. Three parts llama. And a sprinkling of corporate AOL. That's what Winamp is all about.
