Winamp ClassicPro Skin Competition

As we talked about in an earlier post, the SHOUTcast team made some great improvements & design changes. They've also been listening to user feedback and are now offering SHOUTcast Classic. Here's how you can access the Classic view from Winamp:

1) Go to your Media Library tab
2) Under Online Services, click on SHOUTcast Radio
3) In the upper right-hand corner, click on "Return to SHOUTcast Classic"

As you know the Winamp dev team has been hard at work on the new Developer Network (come back soon for additional details). But they've also been working on additional user experience improvements.

There are a bunch of different ways you can create and edit playlists in Winamp. This video shows you how to create a standard playlist, as well as how to use the Playlist Editor. It also teaches you how Winamp can dynamically generate a playlist for you.

Learn how to include streaming audio in your Winamp playlists. In other words, you don't even need to have the song in your media library, as long as you know the streaming url. Don't know what a streaming url is... don't worry, we'll show you how you can use the 'Now Playing' feature to add songs from across the web.

Finally, if you're a purist and don't like the idea of a playlist and would rather learn how to shuffle all songs in Winamp, we show you that as well!

Have Fun!

I'm sure most of you have noticed by now, there's something different about SHOUTcast. Our fellow developers on the SHOUTcast team have been working long and hard to relaunch the site, which debuted last week. They made a lot of great improvements including:

- A new easy-to-navigate design
- Improved search capabilities - search over 22K radio stations worldwide by artist name, song title, or genre
- Top stations listed by genre providing single-click access to a variety of different stations
- A new SHOUTcast Radio Widget - which allows you to add SHOUTcast to your own site or integrate it into
your favorite social networking site (Bebo, Facebook, & MySpace)
- And obviously the redesign of SHOUTcast Radio & TV within Winamp (Media Library -- Online Services -- SHOUTcast Radio)

To check out the new site for yourself you can go to SHOUTcast.com. For more information or to leave your comment/feedback visit the SHOUTcast blog.

One part genius. Three parts llama. And a sprinkling of corporate AOL. That's what Winamp is all about.
